DATABASE MODELS AND THE ENTITY-RELATIONSHIP MODEL

This article analyzes the types of data models that form the basis of database management systems (DBMSs) and their principles of operation. In particular, the components of the Entity-Relationship (ER) model, which is the first and most important stage of database design, the attribute hierarchy and logical relationships between objects are discussed in detail. The article shows the importance of models in reducing errors and ensuring data integrity during the design process.
