This article examines the mechanisms for accelerating economic growth in Uzbekistan through the selection and development of key “driver” sectors of industry. Based on the IMRAD approach, the criteria of sectoral share, growth rate, technological level, export potential, and cooperative linkages were assessed. As a result, mechanical engineering, chemical industry, electrical engineering, textile industry, food processing, pharmaceuticals, and construction materials were identified and substantiated as priority areas. Practical recommendations for developing an effective and results-oriented industrial policy were also developed.
