Abstract

Along with the large-scale reforms carried out in Uzbekistan in recent years, the energy sector has entered a stage of institutional renewal, technological modernization and diversification of sources. The article analyzes the historical stages of electrification in Uzbekistan, the establishment and development of the national power system, the role of hydropower and thermal power plants, the transformation of “Uzbekenergo” and “Uzbekhydroenergo”, as well as recent trends related to solar, wind, hydropower and energy storage projects.
