Its application can be of great benefit to the mining industry and the economy as a whole. Mining machinery equipment is used in various mining operations such as underground mining, open pit mining and surface mining. It is also widely used in mineral exploration, mineral transportation and mineral processing. Mining machinery equipment has made mining operations more efficient and effective. Using advanced technology, mining machines allow for deeper mining and more minerals, which helps to increase the yield of precious minerals. In addition, mining machinery equipment can perform repetitive and dangerous tasks, reducing the risk of human error and injury.
2024-07-10T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2024 https://americanjournal.org/index.php/ajrhss/article/view/2266 THE ESTABLISHMENT AND STAGES OF HISTORICAL DEVELOPMENT OF TOURISM ARTICLE REVIEW 2024-07-12T14:19:19+00:00 Ph. D. Mohan Sha’lan Abbas Mohan.sh@uokerbala.edu.iq
This study explores the role of silent movies as a shared experience during the early twentieth century in the United States. Amid high immigration rates, non-English-speaking citizens faced economic and social challenges, including exclusion from public entertainment and discourse. Drawing evidence from reviews, personal correspondence, and diaries, our research demonstrates that silent films served as an affordable and inclusive form of entertainment. We argue for the accessible economic and representational nature of early cinema, evident in low admission prices and actors’ exaggerated gestures that transcended language barriers.
2024-07-12T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2024 https://americanjournal.org/index.php/ajrhss/article/view/2267 INVESTIGATING THE IMPORTANCE OF FLOATING GRICE'S MAXIMS IN TRANSLATING ADVERTISEMENTS 2024-07-12T14:21:40+00:00 Ayah Ismail Ibrahim ai230011prt@st.tu.edu.iq Asst. Prof. Dr. Maha Bakir Mohammed bakir.maha@tu.edu.iq
This study investigates the application and implications of Grice's conversational maxims in the translation of deceptive expressions within advertisements. Specifically, it examines which maxim—quantity, quality, relation, or manner—is most frequently floated by translators. The study posits two hypotheses: first, that translators are more likely to float rather than violate these maxims, and second, that the maxim of quality is floated more frequently than the others. Findings partially support the first hypothesis, revealing that translators floated Grice’s maxims 13 times out of 27 instances to mitigate the impact of deceptive content, often altering the information quantity, message quality, relational context, and message order to maintain the source language text's (SLT) overall integrity and persuasive intent. However, the second hypothesis is refuted, as translators generally maintained adherence to the quality maxim, prioritizing honesty and commitment to the SLT’s intended meaning over floating it. These findings underscore the nuanced role of Grice’s maxims in achieving faithful and effective translation in advertising contexts, where rhetorical strategies often necessitate flexible adherence to these conversational principles.
2024-07-12T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2024 https://americanjournal.org/index.php/ajrhss/article/view/2268 INFRASTRUCTURAL FINANCING AND INDUSTRIAL SECTOR PERFORMANCE IN NIGERIA 2024-07-17T06:35:00+00:00 Okwuosa, Galeed Idowu galeedokwuosa@gmail.com
This study was motivated by the need to empirically examine the influence of government infrastructural financing on industrial sector performance in Nigeria. The study disaggregated infrastructural financing by the government according to the Central Bank of Nigeria’s (CBN) statistical bulletin classification which includes Government Financing on Road and Construction (GFRC), Government Financing on Transport and Communication (GFTC), Government Financing on Internal Security (GFIS) and Government Financing on Other Economic Services (GFOES) while industrial sector performance was measured by Industrial Sector Output (ISO) contribution to national output. Both descriptive and inferential statistics was used to analyzed data obtained from the CBN’s statistical bulletin between 1994 and 2022. The inferential statistics helped us to determine the relationship between the implicated variables through the application of the Autoregressive Distributive Lag (ARDL) and its associated bond test given the fractional integration recorded with our stationarity test while Granger causality test was used to determine the causal relationship between the implicated variables. From our findings, GFRC and GFOES had positive influence on ISO and were insignificant while GFTC and GFIS were negative and insignificantly related with ISO. The study further reported absence of a long run relationship between government infrastructural financing and industrial sector performance while a unidirectional relationship was recorded between GFRC and industrial sector performance and bidirectional relationship between GFIS and industrial sector performance. The study recommends the need to enhance the quality of GFRC and GFOES and other aspect of infrastructure to ensure their optimum performance through constant monitoring and budget evaluations.
2024-07-16T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2024 https://americanjournal.org/index.php/ajrhss/article/view/2271 THE CHRONICLES OF THE PRESS OF THE REPUBLIC OF UZBEKISTAN AND THE REGIONS KEEP PACE WITH THE TIMES 2024-07-17T07:17:02+00:00 Yakubova Nodira Tulaganovna yakubovaferuza72@gmail.com
This article explores the processes of historical development of the press of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the region and analyzes the impact of the modern Press on social, political and cultural life. Prof. Kanaan K. Hasan (PhD) k.hasan@tu.edu.iq
Graffiti is a form of communication used by various subcultures to convey personal opinions publicly. It can function as a medium for conveying political, social, and commercial messages. Translating graffiti poses significant difficulties for translators, mainly when dealing with languages from diverse cultural backgrounds. The dataset for this study comprises examples of Arabic graffiti that have been translated into English. Translating Arabic graffiti into English is a significant challenge due to the vast disparities in language and cultural aspects between the two. Translators encounter numerous challenges while translating because of the absence of precise counterparts in the language they are translating into. The objective of this study is to identify the sociocultural impacts on the translation of Arabic graffiti into English, focusing on a pragmatic viewpoint. It also attempts to examine the difficulties associated with dialects, colloquial language, metaphors, and culture-specific terminology. Additionally, it seeks to determine the techniques that translators rely on during the translation process and the level of equivalency they reach. Lastly, the study seeks to determine whether the selection of a particular method for portraying graffiti texts influences the translators' ability to reach equivalence. The present study posits that translators' varied origins and perspectives may lead to subjective interpretations and biases influenced by social, cultural, religious, and political ideologies. The study's conclusion demonstrates that a single technique can result in many equivalence levels within a given translation. Translators encounter various problems, including lexical, semantic, grammatical, pragmatic, structural, textual, contextual, and cultural obstacles, during the translation process.
2024-07-23T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2024 https://americanjournal.org/index.php/ajrhss/article/view/2280 THE IMPACT OF ACCOUNTING CONSERVATISM ON THE VALUATION OF PRIVATE IRAQI BANKS: A STUDY OF SELECTED BANKS LISTED ON THE IRAQI STOCK EXCHANGE 2024-07-23T17:10:41+00:00 Ali Mirzah Abd- Alhamza Al-Iissawi alim.alissawi@student.uokufa.edu.iq
The research used Tobin's Q scale to measure the extent of accounting conservatism practices in private Iraqi banks and their impact on the company’s value. The study focused on twenty-three Iraqi banks listed on the Iraqi Stock Exchange from 2018 to 2022, with a sample size of fourteen banks, approximately 60% of the total population. The results revealed variations in accounting conservatism practices among the sampled banks based on profit skewness, with some banks implementing these practices while others did not. The researcher recommends that banks adhering to conservative practices should continue doing so while striving to strike a balance between high market value and book value. Achieving this balance is crucial for positive performance evaluation and efficient decision-making. Additionally, increasing accounting conservatism practices should be done in a way that provides more relevant information for decision-making and enhances the bank's value.
2024-07-23T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2024
